I want you to print out 10 resumes a week and hand deliver them to the receptionist of the companies that you want to retire from. Make sure to ask nicely for the business card, email address or contact number of the hiring manager that will receive your resume once it leaves the receptionist’s hands. Once you get Mr. or Mrs. Hiring Manager’s information, ask the receptionist for one more small favor... Have her put a sticky note on your resume that lets the hiring manager know you will follow up with them via email or telephone next Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Then follow up with them on the day and at the precise time that you said you would, by way of the communications method you specified.
